PRESS RELEASE
The new NAVIGON 2510 Explorer is the ideal choice for people who love travelling and discovering new destinations across Europe.
The 2510 Explorer offers the new NAVIGON Sightseeing feature that notifies drivers of tourist attractions along their route. Drivers can discover historical details about each POI (point of interest) and, to help make it even easier to locate, photos automatically appear on the sat nav screen when the vehicle is near a tourist highlight.
Sightseeing throughout the whole of Europe
The NAVIGON Sightseeing Tours feature provides drivers with a selection of sightseeing routes for a number of European countries based on the recommendations of route planner ViaMichelin. In just one click, MyBest POI allows users to choose special destinations along their routes to meet their own requirements and shows these favourites as icons on the display.
"With the NAVIGON 2510 Explorer, drivers have a personal travel guide available at the touch of a button. Users can access information for over 6,200 tourist sites in 18 European countries and arrive at their destinations knowing all about where they are," says Peter Blampied, UK & Ireland Country Manager.
Even more detailed information about individual tourist attractions is available from the NAVIGON Online Shop for only £19.95. In addition to extensive information about individual places to visit, the NAVIGON 2510 Explorer also provides drivers with complete tourist routes compiled by route planner ViaMichelin, with a total of 14 routes in 14 countries coming preinstalled on the system. Users can discover the beauties of Tuscany on the Italian route or take a tour along the Irish coast route in County Kerry. This standard offering can be upgraded at any time with additional tourist routes for only £14.95 from the NAVIGON Online Shop.
Pedestrian navigation
Accompanying the essential NAVIGON features for in-car navigation such as Lane Assistant Pro, TMC Routing Info, Spoken TMC and Reality View, the NAVIGON 2510 Explorer offers the NAVIGON Last Mile function to transform these in-car devices into convenient hand-held guides. This Last Mile function also stores the location of where the user has parked the car, quickly guiding users back to their vehicle.
The display screen changes its aspect automatically as soon as the pedestrian navigation device is held upright and thanks to the integrated E-Compass, an arrow continually points to your destination, keeping an eye on where you are headed and updates your position coordinates as you go. The NAVIGON 2510 Explorer also features an energy-saving function, offering up to four hours of battery life. On foot, users can still access details of relevant tourist attractions and either read all about or listen to information on particular interesting sites.
The new NAVIGON 2510 Explorer will be available at the end of May 2010 for only £149. You can also upgrade your existing NAVIGON 2410 unit with the new features of the NAVIGON 2510 Explorer for only £39.95.
