Benchmarks: Temperature

Keeping the 65W Core i7-4770R running cool at all times is a challenge for small-form-factor PCs. When idle, the Zbox EI750 Plus hovers at a lukewarm 34ºC.

Apply maximum load and the CPU soon begins to heat up. This, really, sums up the key difference between Gigabyte's Brix Pro and Zotac's Zbox EI750 Plus. The former was willing to run at a scorching 97ºC, while the latter throttles CPU performance in order to keep temperature down to a much more comfortable 75ºC.

Restricting IGP performance has a massive impact on temperature when gaming. Zotac has kept the Core i7-4770R running suitably cool, but has had to sacrifice performance to make it happen.
