There's so much on-chip cache on the Core i7-3930K chip, amounting to over 13MB in total, that the heavy lifting is done by the CPU and not the memory. It used to be the case that datasets wouldn't fit into the chip's cache and high-bandwidth, low-latency memory provided a genuine boost in performance. Now, though, gaming performance tends to be more memory-agnostic. And this point is crucial as Patriot is aiming this set towards gamers and enthusiasts.
