Benchmarks: Power Draw and Battery Life

Looking for all-day battery life? Gaming laptops aren't a good place to start. Nvidia's G-Sync and Optimus technologies remain mutually exclusive, meaning that the G-Sync-enabled X5 v6 can't turn off the GTX 1070 and revert to the Intel IGP based on usage scenario.

With the GeForce GPU running at all times, battery life inevitably takes a hit. In our battery-rundown test, which entails looping a high-definition movie clip with 50 per cent screen brightness and all wireless radios disabled, the X5 v6 only managed to keep going for a little over three hours.
