Power, Temperature and Noise

The low-power credentials of Nvidia's latest-generation Pascal architecture continue to impress. Radeon RX 480, GTX 980 and GeForce GTX 1060 may be similar with regards to in-game performance, but it's the latter that stands out in the power efficiency stakes.

MSI's giant Gaming X cooler is designed for a bigger, hotter running chip, so it has zero difficulty in taming the GTX 1060. 65ºC under load is very healthy for an air-cooled card.

Keeping the GPU cool is so simple that the fans can barely be heard. They turn off at low load and when they do feel the need to spin up noise output is kept to an absolute minimum.
