The 2013 Tomb Raider reboot has received critical acclaim and, with the aid of Crystal Dynamics' game engine, helps bring Lara Croft to life with stunning character models and believable worlds. We run a 60-second benchmark using the Ultra-quality preset.
Quicker than reference? Check. Slower than the faster-clocked Gigabyte? Check. Asus's card, as expected, enters the chart at number two in the 1080p Tomb Raider benchmark.
There's little between the two overclocked cards at 4K, and both are comfortably ahead of the reference design. It's interesting to have some of Nvidia's predecessors in the line-up, as the results show that the 980 Strix offers almost 60 per cent more performance than a GTX 680.
