Game Performances Continued

Dark Messiah of Might and Magic

DMoMM

DMoMM's result is very cool here, since G80 just chews through what looks a hell of a lot like a VS processing limit (G71 and R580 are very close in terms of VS ability and performance in 7900 GTX and X1950 XTX form), the hardware also working well at 2560x1600 as you'd expect.

Company of Heroes

CoH

8800 GTX takes a pixellated poop on the rest, roughly doubling performance (and nearly tripling it at 2560x1600) over the old guard.

Far Cry

Far Cry

8800 GTX doubles what 7900 GTX is capable of in our Far Cry test at 2560x1600, and it's over 50% faster than X1950 XTX at the same big resolution.

Oblivion

Oblivion

The mighty Oblivion (so mighty that G71 can't run the game at the settings we ask the others to) is a big win for G80, likely aided more than a little by the performance blending wide pixels in the ROP before output, but also by general shading ability and bandwidths available to sustain rendering at high-resolution in Oblivion's outdoor scenes.
