Power, Temperature and Noise

Gaming performance is right where we'd expect it to be, as is power consumption. MSI's overclock results in a slight increase in system-wide power draw under load when compared to a reference R9 270X, but there's very little in it.

We alluded to the card's cooling potential earlier in the review and here's the proof. MSI's cooler may be small, yet it does a terrific job of keeping the AMD GPU running at well below 70ºC under load.

And for those of you with HTPC in mind, noise levels aren't bad, either. MSI's card can be heard under load, but it's never too vocal and the noise output is more than acceptable when gaming.
