Overclocking

We used Gainward's ExpertTool II software to overclock the card. In the first instance we overclocked the core and memory without touching the voltage. In the second, and with due knowledge that Gainward offers a workaround on the voltage limits imposed by Nvidia, we increased the core voltage by +0.15V, just to see how much extra speed we could eke out of it.

Comparing stock vs. stock, the Gainward card's core overclock is better than average, as shown by the table below. The memory, however, didn't run at the same high speeds as the competition.

GTX 780 card

Asus
Palit
EVGA
Gigabyte
OC speed
1,085/7,012MHz
1,075/7,608MHz
1,050/7,100MHz
1,037/7,608MHz
1,010/7,608MHz

You're unlikely to see much better single-GPU performance this year.
