Temperature is also important to the target market for both of our competing cards, and one has the beating of the other. Somewhat surprisingly (or not if you factor in size), the fan-less Sapphire 7750 Ultimate is the cooler of the two, managing to keep to an impressive 56ºC when gaming.

The results suggest that a smaller heatsink would suffice, but Sapphire's gone all out and delivered a passive cooler that really excels. Under-load temperatures are reduced by more than 10 per cent when compared to the VTX3D option, though it's worth adding that the single-slot card still manages a very respectable 63ºC.
