Introduction

HEXUS' review of the Radeon HD 3870 X2 surmised that ATI had, arguably, taken the crown for fastest graphics card in town - just beating out the NVIDIA GeForce 8800 Ultra in our Windows XP and Vista benchmarks.

ATI's dual-GPU card is now available from most etailers for around Ā£270, with little to differentiate board partners' efforts that focus on the reference board with, as you would expect, reference 825MHz engine/shader and 1,800MHz memory clocks.

Sapphire, however, has bucked the reference trend by releasing an self-contained, watercooled version of the X2. Read on to find out if it makes the right splash.
