Specification

SilverStone Technology has a range of desktop and tower cases available, but at the present time they are not widely available throughout the UK. A lot of the tower cases use a similar chassis to the budget Cooler Master Centurion, but there’s an exception with the SilverStone TJ-03 which is based on a Cooler Master 101. The CM101 was and still is an amazing computer case. It has good looks, amazing build quality and plenty of space to expand your computer system with 5 x 5¼ inch drive bays. This was the rival for the Lian Li PC70 which was popular with a lot of watercooling users as it has a vast amount of space to house the water pump and reservoir.

The SilverStone TJ-03 boasts 6 x 5¼ inch drive bays yet the Lian Li PC70 still towers above it. The TJ-03 doesn’t have any visable 3½ inch drive bays which makes this full tower, 6 bay case, a more manageable size in comparison to the Lian Li PC70.

  • SilverStone T-J03: 200mm x 502mm x 590mm (W x H x D)
  • Lian Li PC70: 210mm x 595mm x 588mm (W x H x D)

So what happens if you wish to install a 3½ inch device into the SilverStone TJ03? Well for the past 4 years I haven’t used a 3½ inch device excluding the card reader from my Shuttle Anniversary Model, so I don’t really have a problem with the case having a lack of 3½ inch drive bays. If you wish to install a floppy drive into the TJ03 then you can buy a transfer bracket from SilverStone. Since this case is priced around $300USD, I would have liked to have seen the transfer bracket included with the case.

The case also is available with a window panel which looks very much like the Cooler Master windows, with the acrylic window mounted on the outside of the case panel.
