Nvidia GeForce GTX 1070 graphics cards are now available to purchase in the UK and Europe. These HEXUS Recommended Award winning cards can now be bought at favourite retailers such as Scan, Overclockers and Ebuyer. If you are reading this news article a little late and looking for stock don't forget that you can also purchase Founders Edition cards directly from Nvidia UK.

This is the second of Nvidia's Pascal GPU packing graphics cards to be launched, and at the time of writing it sits next to the GTX 1080 as one of only a pair of GeForce GTX 1000 Series graphics cards announced and available. The GTX 1070 offers a much keener price than its bigger brother, with some cuts to performance of course, however at the moment its balanced architecture, energy efficiency and pricing give it a leading HEXUS 'Bang4Buck' score in nearly all of our sub-4K resolution performance tests.

As VR becomes more widespread, Nvidia promises that the GTX 1070 will deliver even more convincingly. You can see in Nvidia's own summary graph, above, that the technologies in this GTX 1070 (and in the GTX 1000 series as a whole so far) boost VR performance further than traditional PC gaming. Remember Nvidia specifically gives VR a shot in the arm via its new simultaneous multi-projection (SMP) technology, plus pixel-level pre-emption (PLP).

If you want to refresh yourself about the key specs of the Nvidia GeForce GTX 1070 and how it compares to the GTX 1080 and previous gen cards from Nvidia please revisit our in-depth review.

As mentioned in the intro, the GTX 1070 should be available to purchase right now. In the UK the Founders' Edition has an RRP of £399. Countries in Europe which use the EURO will have to pay EUR424 plus VAT – in Germany and France that means EUR499 according to my email.

Partner-made GeForce GTX 1070 cards are also on the way, said to be coming "very soon". UK residents can expect to pay £329 for such graphics cards while in Europe they will be priced at EUR353 plus sales tax. As I write, an email has just come through from AiB partner Colorful, announcing a trio of custom GTX 1070 cards scheduled for release at the end of the month. You can see the Colorful iGame GTX1070 U-TOP-8G pictured below. Further details of these cards, and probably others, will be posted in the HEXUS press release section later today.

Might want to do a re check on the UK price, most partner cards are over £400

But how long will it hold it? (The Rx 480 is released on the 29th and the leaked 3dMark scores have put it above the 390/970 for <£200)

The cheapest on OcUK was £375 and the GTX970 and R9 390 can be had for around £230. I think it is optimistic the GTX1070 looks good value! ;)

I dunno the AiB cards being about £350 for the same performance as a 980Ti sounds like bloody good value to me

Thats pretty relative. The GTX980Ti is very overpriced but, will still be beat the GTX1070 comfortably when both are overclocked. £400 is way too much IMO.
