There were murmurings in March about the graphics performance of AMD's upcoming Llano APUs. It was suggested then, that the A8-3550 and A8-3550P would feature HD 6550 class capabilities.
This has reportedly now been corroborated and - for the A8-3550 and A8-3550P - it is said to be 400 stream processors, and a 594MHz clock speed, that will make up the backbone of the integrated HD 6550 class graphics solution.
Perhaps more interesting though, is the claimed ability for the integrated graphics offering to co-create with a discrete HD 6570 or HD 6670 based solution - both powered by the Turks core - using some form of Hybrid CrossFireX. This happy fusion of graphics prowess will then deliver, what is termed as, HD 6690 class graphics capabilities.
It's also said that AMD's take finds the GPU silicon deeply integrated into the APU as a whole, rather than simply tacked on. The graphics unit will share the use of main system memory, but AMD is rumoured to be considering SidePort options too.
