IT and lifestyle brand Raijintek has launched a trio of chassis which go large on the use of tempered glass. The ‘designed in Germany, made in Taiwan’ firm has started to make available the Coeus Elite (£123 / EUR&USD 140), Coeus Evo (£135 / EUR&USD 150), and Paean M (£80 / EUR&USD 90). If you live in the UK you can pre-order these chassis at OverclockersUK.

The Raijintek Coeus Evo is the largest of the new chassis from Raijintek. It can fit up to E-ATX size motherboards and stands at a height of 544mm. Its size means it has capacity for up to 8 fans, with four LED lit 120mm fans pre-installed. There is enough space for a range of water cooling options.

  • Dimensions: 235 x 544 x 444 mm (W x H x D)
  • Weight: approx. 12,2 kg
  • Material: Aluminium, tempered glass, steel, plastic
  • Colour: Black
  • Form Factor: E-ATX, ATX, Micro-ATX, Mini-ITX
  • Total Possible Fans: 3x 120 mm or 2x 140 mm (Front), 2x 120 mm or 2x 140 mm (Roof), 1x 120 mm (Rear)
  • Pre-Installed: 3x 120 mm (Front), 1x 120 mm (Rear)
  • Radiator Mountings: 1x 240 / 280 /360 mm (Front), 1x 240 / 280 mm (Roof), Filter: Yes
  • Drive Bays:, 4x 2,5/3,5 (internal)
  • Power Supply: 1x Standard-ATX
  • Expansion Slots: 8
  • I/O Panel: 2x USB 3.0 Type A, 1x USB 3.0 Type C, 1x Audio In, 1x Audio Out
  • Maximum GPU Length: 350 mm (400 mm without front fans)
  • Maximum CPU Cooler Height: 175 mm

Raijintek’s Coeus Elite looks similar to the Evo but is a little smaller at 484mm tall. Thus the front fan setup is limited to two rather than three 120mm fans. Its reduced capacity isn’t even roomy enough for ATX motherboards and limits your choice to Micro ATX or Mini ITX. Compared to its larger brother it sacrifices a further three expansion slots, one fan mount, and one 3.5-inch hard drive bay. However it can still accommodate the same sized GPUs and CPU coolers as the Evo.

  • Dimensions: 235 x 484 x 444 mm (W x H x D)
  • Weight: approx. 11 kg
  • Material: Aluminium, tempered glass, steel, plastic
  • Colour: Black
  • Form Factor: Micro-ATX, Mini-ITX
  • Total Possible Fans: 2x 120 mm or 2x 140 mm (Front),2x 120 mm or 2x 140 mm (Top), 1x 120 mm (Rear)
  • Pre-Installed: 2x 120 mm (Front), 1x 120 mm (Rear)
  • Radiator Mountings: 1x 240 / 280 mm (Front), 1x 240 / 280 mm (Top), Filter: Yes
  • Drive Bays: 3x 3,5/2,5" (internal) + 1x 2,5" (internal)
  • Power Supply: 1x Standard-ATX
  • Expansion Slots: 5
  • I/O Panel: 2x USB 3.0 Type A, 1x USB 3.0 Type C, 1x Audio In, 1x Audio Out
  • Maximum GPU Length: 350 mm (400 mm without front fans)
  • Maximum CPU Cooler Height: 175 mm

The Paean M from Raijintek is the Micro ATX / Mini-ITX version of the innovative semi-open Paean benchtable or show case from Raijintek. Its design sets it apart from the looks and target markets of the Coeus products mentioned above. Despite its compact form, the Micro ATX / Mini-ITX motherboard packing chassis provides water cooling opportunities, up to 280mm radiators, fits an ATX PSU, and can be wall mounted.

  • Dimensions: 255 x 360 x 445 mm (W x H x D)
  • Weight: approx. 5,5 kg
  • Colour: Black
  • Form Factor: Micro-ATX, Mini-ITX
  • Fans (optional, radiators up to 280 mm possible): 2x 120 mm / 2x 140 mm (chamber)
  • Drive Options: 1x 3.5" (exterior right), 3x 2.5 inches (exterior right)
  • Power Supply: 1x Standard ATX (optional)
  • Expansion Slots: 5
  • I/O Panel (removable): 2x USB 3.0 (internal), 2x USB 2.0 (internal), 1x Audio In/Out (each)
  • Maximum PSU Length: 200 mm
  • Maximum GPU Length: approx. 430 mm
  • Maximum CPU Cooler: approx. 140 mm (unlimited without side panel)

must say i like the looks of the evo- not particularly expensive either, goes on my longlist deffo
I like the look, as well. I just wish the bigger one had space for a 360 rad on the top.
I like the concept of lifestyle cases, and of extensive use of glass which, as a material, I rate highly.

However, these designs are the antithesis of what, to me are “lifestyle” designs. What I want is something that, while functional, almost doubles as a piece of furniture, an artwork, even a storage case, etc. But most emphatically NOT with the gubbins of a PC on show. So, make these or something similar out of coloured (pastel) and emphatically opaque glass, and I'm interested.

What I want is something that looks great, in it's own right, yet masks the fact that it'sca PC case. But for clear glass (or perspex) I don't even want a case window, let alone a transparent case.

Oh, and I'm referring to a PC for use in my home living areas. For office use, simple metal is fine provided it's well-made …. i.e. easy access, tool-less and no sharp edges. Beyond that, I don't much care what it looks like, provided there's no Tonka-style plastic bits. Just something plain, functional and that works well.
Glass, breakable, off my list and looking elsewhere.
Really not a fan of this current case fashion-trend… and it looks like some art student got let into the architect's office by mistake, again.
It is tempered, so yeah, breakable, but not easily and pretty safe if you do.

Being glass doesn't deter me, but being transpsrent does.
