Buffalo launches second Video Surveillance NAS solution for Axis Network Cameras

London, UK, 30^th September 2014: Buffalo Technology, the global manufacturer of storage and networking solutions, today announced the launch of their LinkStation^TM 420 NVR (LS420DS). After the TeraStation^TM 5200 NVR, this is the second series of optimised products exclusively designed for Axis network cameras. The LinkStation^TM 420 NVR with Axis network cameras enables complete management of IP surveillance, making this device an ideal companion for small/home offices, multiple branch locations and demanding homes.

This LS420DS offers a complete end-to-end SOHO and prosumer surveillance solution, featuring Axis' One-Click camera and NAS configuration for seamless surveillance network deployment in just 20 minutes or less. The AXIS Camera Companion communicates with the NAS and automatically sets up users and configures the cameras to connect to the NAS. As a result, the installer never has to log into the NAS device or the camera to have a fully functioning surveillance network up and running in minutes. 

Fully populated with two high-quality WD Red hard drives, the LinkStation NVR offers a scalable solution allowing months of continuous 24x7 recording and the ability to add cameras at any time. The LS420DS offers a scalable solution for smaller business, enabling users to install up to 8 Axis network cameras, whereas the TS5200DS, made for SMEs, allows up to 16 Axis network cameras. 

The LS420DS also provides 512MB of fast DDR3 memory. Available in 2TB and 4TB, this device has data transfer rates of 480Mbps USB 2.0. In addition to this, the LS420DS supports Axis network camera compatible iOS and Android mobile apps for playback viewing - anytime, anywhere.
