I agree with you both. the stick is just not working because the punishment is small and the chances are slim of getting caught. i love e-music becuse it treats you as a grown adult and trusts you to do the right thing. and very few of the tracks get leaked onto the net. if the large labels supported a system like emusic i would start buying music from the big 4 (although for me at the moment there is not much to choose from in there catalogs)
Something that is worth mentioning relating to the various online music services is Jamendo, an optional-donation based service that any artist can sign up for.
