Third-generation Intel Core chips are imbued with DX11 technology. NUC's graphics perform well enough for a low-power system.

The generation-to-generation increase in HD Graphics is shown by the improvement in 3DMark Vantage scores, though it would be foolish to base purchasing decisions on synthetic benchmarks alone.

Load up Batman: Arkham City, render at 1,280x720 with high-quality settings, and the game is just about playable. AMD's HD 6550D graphics, meanwhile, are plain better.

A DX11 GPU needs some DX11 love, right? Even knocking down the settings to medium isn't enough to enable smooth gameplay.

DiRT Showdown runs reasonably smooth with medium/high-quality settings. Intel's latest IGP, HD 4000, isn't designed for full-on gaming - rather, it's handy for what the industry terms 'casual gamers.' You'll have little choice but to rely on the integrated graphics; there's clearly no space to house a mobile GPU from either AMD or NVIDIA.
