Benchmarks: Power Consumption

This graph is interesting. We reckon that an Ivy Bridge system should idle at 60-70W. Inspecting the Vanquish closer, the Core i7-3770K chip doesn't step down from the 4.6GHz frequency, leading to higher-than-expected power draw.

Fire up Prime95, run it on all CPU cores for 10 minutes, and the power-related benefits of Intel's newest silicon are plain to see.

PC Specialist's 850W PSU has plenty of spare capacity should you want to add a second GTX 680, watercooling, and a gaggle of extra storage drives.
