Benchmarks - PCMark 8 Busy Time
In our second set of tests we can look at the total busy time when the drive is running the Photoshop Heavy test through the 18 phases. You want this to be as low as possible, obviously, and for it to be consistent between runs. The 845DC PRO is pegged at two seconds through each segment, compared to the helter-skelter performance of the consumer Crucial.
Writing is harder than reading, and the Samsung averages very close to 15 seconds in each phase. It's not perturbed by the current phase at all. Conversely, a consumer drive is rather more hit and miss, with performance only improving once there's sufficient time for recovery.
