Enterprise Workloads

Simulating a possible real-world scenario, our database workload consists of random 8KB transfers in a 67 per cent read/33 per cent write distribution. The Intel DC S3700 maintains a significant lead, averaging close to 35,000 IOPs at a queue depth of 32.

The file server workload consists of mixed-size file transfers. Once again, the consumer drives show varying degrees of success, while Intel's DC S3700 enterprise drive continues to scale well at higher queue depths.

Performance in intensive scenarios is excellent. The workstation pattern makes use of 8KB transfers in an 80 per cent read/20 per cent write distribution, and Intel's drive manages close to 40,000 IOPs at SATA's maximum supported queue depth of 32.
