Conclusion

...the RMx is able to match its bigger brother's electrical performance at, crucially, a more attractive price point.

Numerous manufacturers have now stepped up to the plate to challenge Corsair in the lucrative PSU stakes. Increased competition is driving down prices to levels where, for example, the Corsair RMi is no longer able to reach.

Enter the Corsair RMx range of supplies. Using the same CWT-manufactured internal platform but reducing price by foregoing Link compatibility and substituting a cheaper fan, the RMx is able to match its bigger brother's electrical performance at, crucially, a more attractive price point.

The fully-modular 850W model arrives at retail armed with a sub-£100 price tag, or £15 cheaper than the RMi bearing the same key technology. It's an easy reach to say this supply is the better bet for the majority if DIY builders. Recommended.

The Good

The Bad
Premium electrical performance
Competitive pricing
Super ripple results
Seven-year warranty
Flat cabling

Is this the end for Corsair Link?

meh .. had a number of corsair psu's ..most had problems ..
switched to a evga (10yr warranty) never looked back ..
corsair try to do to much .. a lot of things they do really well ..some not so much ..
Хорошая вещь.
I have used and built with many Corsair Psu's over the years, and only one has had a (real) problem that is my HX620 I got over 10 years ago it has been running stuff 24/7 in various builds, and TBH a cable got pulled on the box it was in so I have yet to pull it apart to see if it really is at fault.

I am happy and looking into an RM for another build.
After having owned (and still do) many different psu's not just corsair, the only issue i ever had was a HX720 the oem was seasonic and one day the fan quit , 8 months out of warranty i replaced it ….the psu still lives to this day !
I also just bought an AX850i , the one with all japanese capacitors 7 year warranty which is plenty long enough for my needs
