Final thoughts and rating

...However, we do believe that Rosewill needs to undercut the established competition if it is to gain a genuine foothold in the enthusiast-orientated market.

Rosewill's raison d'être rests with sourcing high-quality kit and then rebranding it for sale in Newegg and other leading online stores. The firm now wants to raise its profile by launching high-end products that are to be sold in a wider range of outlets. Helping augment this approach is the Tachyon 750W PSU, designed to offer top-notch performance at a competitive price point.

Our tests show that the supply provides solid numbers through a battery of tests, and we have no qualms about its performance. However, we do believe that Rosewill needs to undercut the established competition if it is to gain a genuine foothold in the enthusiast-orientated market. Citing an example, Corsair's AX760 retails for the same money and has some additional technical trickery - hybrid fan, for starters - and a longer warranty that, combined, gives it the nod.

A competent supply that uses a high-quality Super Flower design, Rosewill's Tachyon 750W is certainly worthy of being put on a shortlist... assuming you live in the US.

The Good

Top-notch performance
Excellent ripple performance
Rated at 50°C and ships with 5-year warranty

The Bad

No hybrid-fan mode
Could do with a few more SATA cables

Not that I don't appreciate Hexus reviews in general but why this review of something mostly (only?) available from America?

Because America is a big market that they are trying to break into.
Rosewill is also going to retail a bunch of products in the UK in the coming months.
