How can you benchmark a mouse mat?

We’ll I’ve read some review sites who sit playing various games and then post screenshots of the scores. We’ll I don’t believe that’s a fair way to benchmark a pad since it all comes down to how well you play in that round. It’s a hard thing to be able to purchase a mouse pad (and other products like keyboards) via e-commerce before you have even tried them. With keyboards some people like it when the keys click, some like it when they are silent. Thankfully we have hardware reviews which discuss these areas and help make up your mind for you.

I was very comfortable in using the X-trac Optical Mouse Pad due to the pad being very low profile which means you don’t strain your wrist. Some mouse pads make a noise when the mouse is gliding around the surface. Often this can be very irritating. Fortunately the X-trac pads are very good and make little noise.
