Conclusion

...Asus is asking a potential customer to contemplate is whether they want to spend the same amount of money on a generic Z170 board or lay out the cash on a small-form-factor build with added panache.

Asus is acutely aware that not all PC enthusiasts want to push their systems to the max. There are many out there who value aesthetics with just as much importance as performance. The ideal customer of this type would purchase an inexpensive Skylake CPU, basic chipset-based motherboard, but would go to town on cool-looking features. That's the presumed target audience of the B150I Pro Gaming Aura motherboard.

This is a board which adds a few gamer-specific features yet the biggest draw, visually at least, is the Aura-RGB lighting. Offering an array of colours to match any other components or chassis, the quality of the LEDs is enough, if you excuse the pun, to put the board in a good light. It looks handsome, if RGB is your thing, and Asus makes it easy to control.

The question Asus is asking a potential customer to contemplate is whether they want to spend the same amount of money on a generic Z170 board or lay out the cash on a small-form-factor build with added panache. You lose some chipset functionality, of course, but, to the target audience, that's a small price to pay for enhanced aesthetics.

Evaluating the board is simple enough. It sacrifices an absolute feature-set level for looks and form factor. If that compromise appeals and you want to build a rig that's somewhat different from the norm, the Asus B150I Pro Gaming Aura fits the bill quite nicely.

An Asus board without overclocking is like a martini without an olive.
daffero una bella scheda madre
Defenetly could have done with more USB for the IO or at least 3.0 replacing the 2.0 ports
seems like a waste to me with the pricing so narrow between the two.
Love the Asus products but this one seems lacking in features
