Feature Discussion

There's very little that the PA1 MVP Extreme doesn't support as an enthusiast level Intel mainboard. Fast DDR2; all LGA775 processors; dual PCI Express graphics because of Crossfire; lots of SATA including some SATA2 with NCQ; it's all there in some form or another. The pair of PCI Express slots for Crossfire also give rise to the possibility for more PCI Express expansion if Crossfire isn't something you really care about. While the slot has graphics in mind, all PCI Express peripherals will fit in the slot from 1X upwards.

And if you do want to run another graphics card, it doesn't have to be Crossfire, or indeed ATI. The board is happy to accept any other PCI Express 16X graphics card, such is the nature of PCI Express at its core. You're no longer limited to one graphics device, rather your limits are in the slots provided by the mainboard that cards can fit into.

The board gives you PCIe-based networking and a second network port from the PCI-based Realtek, audio is 8-channel from a competent ACL880 HD Audio CODEC chip and you get FireWire to boot for something like an older iPod or DV camcorder.

There's not much that HEXUS consider missing from the PA1 MVP Extreme when aimed at the enthusiast, should Intel processors be what you're keen on and interested in using.
