It's time for all GTX 900-series laptops to move over. Armed with a single GTX 1070, the Aorus X5 v6 is able to pummel all the other 15.6in systems in our line-up. Performance over the recent X5S v5 Camo, which if you recall was powered by a GTX 980M, is up by a whopping 71 per cent in 3DMark Fire Strike.

We've been able to run all the other relevant 3DMark tests and the Aorus X5 v6 continues to set new standards for a 15.6in machine. A Time Spy score of 5,350 is mighty close to a desktop GeForce GTX 1070, and the laptop sneaks past the line in the Time Spy Stress Test with a 97.1 per cent rating.

Games matter more than synthetic benchmarks, and we're pleased to see the the X5 v6 doesn't let up. Playing modern titles at FHD and QHD resolutions is easy, and here's the best bit, the laptop is able to maintain an average of over 60 frames per second in all four of the above titles at the native WQHD+ resolution with quality settings dialled up to 11. Turn on G-Sync and games do look and feel fantastic.
