Benchmarks: Temperatures and Noise
Surprisingly, the GTX 980M isn't the main culprit in terms of heat production. The GPU keeps reasonably cool under load, and it's actually the CPU that's the warmer of the two - hitting 85ºC while encoding video.
The laptop gets warm to the touch but not uncomfortably hot, however fan noise is an issue. Though the laptop is quiet when idle, the fans are quick to spin-up and the pre-programmed profile isn't smooth. As a result, the fans sound as though they are revving-up when the going gets tough, and we hope PC Specialist can issue some form of software update to smooth-out the fan profile.
