PCMark 8 confirms that the GS30 is one of the fastest sub-14in laptops available today, but does it live up to its billing as a gaming machine? Not quite, as the Intel Iris Pro IGP scores only 1,265 3DMarks and is unable to deliver a playable framerate in Aliens vs. Predator at the native 1080p resolution.

The laptop itself is fast for 2D workloads but as is the case with many thin-and-light systems, it does need a hand with 3D gaming, hence the GamingDock.
