Rendered at a 2,560x1,440 QHD resolution and making use of DX12 technologies such as asynchronous compute, explicit multi-adapter and multi-threading, Time Spy is a forward-looking 3DMark benchmark that hints at GPU potential in various upcoming games.

3DMark Time Spy is a synthetic DX12 benchmark that provides good insight into a card's performance capabilities using the latest APIs. Once again, GTX 1080 pummels the R9 Fury X and the Inno3D is already starting to pull away from the Founders Edition.

The advantage of the liquid cooler is also beginning to show. Nvidia's Founders Edition fails the Time Spy Stress Test (a score of 97 per cent is required to pass) while Inno3D's iChill Black has no problem maintaining stable frequencies for the duration of the 20 back-to-back benchmark runs.
