Absurdly violent and increasingly gruesome at every turn. It's fast, it's frantic, it's Doom. A game that needs no introduction to PC enthusiasts, this 2016 reboot brings hell's evil forces to life with updated visuals and is without a doubt one of the most eagerly anticipated launches in years.

Not all games are as demanding as Deus Ex. Doom, using the Vulkan API, runs lovely and smooth at 1080p with quality cranked-up to maximum.

Do note that the next cards up the ladder are playing in an entirely different performance category, though compacted pricing does make things interesting. Current US MSRPs have the Radeon RX 470 positioned as 22 per cent pricier than the GeForce GTX 1050 Ti ($169 vs. $139), but spending that extra amount results in a whopping 74 per cent performance increase in Doom.
