Introduced as the fifth major entry in the series, Fallout 4 takes place in post-apocalyptic Boston in the year 2287, 210 years after a Nuclear war. Not the most uplifting environment, but there are plenty of open environments to explore and the visuals, especially on PC, are at times dazzling.

We're back to some tasty scaling at the resolutions that matter. No GTX 1080 card is able to touch the performance of two GTX 1070s in SLI. Is the average frame rate really as good as it seems?

Yup, Fallout 4 DX11 is a poster-child for SLI. Not only do you get 75 per cent extra chutzpah by going from one to two cards, there's very good performance for those slowest frames. We'd be comfortable in calling this a lush 4K60 graphics setup.
