The reference RX 480 is pretty much on a par with the R9 390. The Radeons' power really emerges at 4K as both overtake the GTX 970 OC though frame rates are too low to be playable.

If we're looking down the present GPU stack from both companies, RX 480 is considerably quicker than the GTX 960 or R9 280X. The sweet spot remains 2,560x1,440,
