Benchmarks: Overclocking

We indulged in a bit of last-minute overclocking using the usual method of increasing the core and memory whilst also increasing the Power Target figure. Though GPU Boost 3.0 offers better control, our version of EVGA Precision X would sometimes crash when compiling the per-point curve. We'll investigate further when time permits.

We managed to increase the core frequency by 220MHz and memory by 235MHz. The core uplift, including GPU Boost, pushed the stable frequency to just over 2GHz. The extra uplift was then tested on three benchmarks.

How about an extra 10 per cent performance on an already quick card? What Nvidia's AIC partners will do is of genuine interest. Will we see any partner be adventurous enough to launch a model with a 2GHz boost speed out of the box?
