Overclocking

Knowing that we struggled to eke out extra performance from the R9 285, we came into the R9 380X expecting minimal overclocking headroom. In practise, we were pleasantly surprised to find that our sample ran happily with a core speed of 1,150MHz and memory at an effective 6,400MHz.

The impact of the overclock will vary from one title to the next, but GTA V shows meaningful gains with a performance increase of almost 14 per cent.
