Power, Temperature and Noise
The provenance of the GM206 architecture comes through in the power consumption stakes. The die is essentially the same as the GTX 960, albeit with parts switched off, so it's not a patch on the energy efficiency of the GTX 750 Ti.
Yet just 160W at the wall is small change for a modern PC. Second-generation Maxwell continues to strike a formidable balance between performance and efficiency.
The fans remains swtiched off at low loads, leading to a very quiet computing experience, and even the under-load figure is well within limits.
Topping off good results on this page, the card's inaudible when idling and barely makes a whisper under load; the twin fans spin at a maximum 1,600rpm.
