Overclocking

Asus has, we feel, achieved a good balance between heightened shipping frequencies, low operating temperatures and minimal under-load noise. But that isn't to say the card isn't for extreme users. Your mileage may vary, yet our sample has proven to be more than willing when pushed.

With no added voltage, we were able to raise the core speed to 1,390MHz (1,491MHz boost), while the memory had no problems hitting an effective 7,940MHz.

The healthy overclock is enough to propel the Asus card past the 13,000 mark - an impressive feat for a single-GPU card.

There's a good amount of headroom available, and though power consumption, temperature and fan noise all suffer as a consequence, the overclock sees in-game performance jump by as much as 16 per cent.
