Thoughts, awards, right2reply, where2buy

Despite its very limited focus, our Bang4buck graph says it all. The Asus EAX1650XT costs a little too much to make it compete with either cheaper or more expensive competition on value. The CrossFire capability could be useful if you need a boost in performance a few months down the line and don't have enough for a decent GPU upgrade. But even then we'd recommend spending a little bit more and going for either a Radeon X1950 PRO or Nvidia GeForce 7900GS right now. Or save £10 and go for a GeForce 7600GT, which has SLI as a future option as well. So, as we concluded when we tested HIS's overclocked version of the X1650XT, the Asus is let down by its price. Unless it becomes available for similar or less than the GeForce 7600GT, we'd recommend exploring the slightly cheaper, or slightly more expensive options instead.

HEXUS Awards

The Asus EAX1650XT successfully completed all our rigorous performance analysis tests, so receives HEXUS.labs certification.

However, as we've suggested, there's no particular area that we can recommend buying it in favour of more competitive alternatives.
