Overclocking

Overclocking mileage will always vary from one sample to another, and ours is showing only a modest amount of headroom. With no added voltage, we managed to increase core and memory speeds to 1,090MHz and 5,900MHz, respectively.

That's just shy of the 1,115MHz and 6,000MHz achieved on PowerColor's PCS+, and we suspect Sapphire may be reserving its very best GPUs for the Vapor-X OC model, which remember ships with a 1,080MHz core as standard.

Our overclock on the Vapor-X card returns a performance increase of around six per cent, putting Sapphire's card up alongside the GeForce GTX 780 Tis.
