3DMark is the latest version of this hugely-popular synthetic benchmark. Making use of DX11 features such as tessellation, compute shaders and multi-threading, it provides modern-day results and is available as a free download.

Two full-fat Hawaii GPUs running at 1,015MHz almost all the time make very short work of 3DMark's Fire Strike test. The trio of dual-GPU cards take the first three spots, as expected. The latest card is over 40 per cent faster than the HD 7990 it replaces as the best Radeon around.
