Power, temps and noise

High power consumption is an inevitable consequence when a graphics card is chasing the performance crown, though Gigabyte's effort is close to the reference card in this regard.

Those three fans and huge-ass heatsink do a very good job at keeping temperatures way below the reference card's.

We've previously commented that, on certain cards, Gigabyte tunes the fan profiles incorrectly, with relatively high noise allied to low temperatures. Run through 10 minutes of Far Cry 3 and the trio of fans are barely detectable, spinning at less than 2,000rpm at all times. That said, we couldn't but help play Battlefield 4 - in the interests of benchmarking, of course - and the fans would intermittently kick up a notch or two after 15 minutes.

Judged by the same metric used to evaluate all other cards, the Gigabyte GTX 780 Ti OC can be deemed very quiet.
