Power, Temperature and Noise

The GTX 780 HOF is geared toward extreme power delivery, so it's perhaps no surprise to find the card chewing through a few more watts than most other GTX 780s. This isn't the card you want if you're looking to cut down your 'leccy bill.

The vapour-chamber cooler, meanwhile, does a good job. The card is very cool when idle, and it has no problem keeping within Nvidia's preferred threshold of 80ºC.

Better yet, the card keeps within the desired temperature target without making too much noise. It's one of the quieter GTX 780s, though of course, hit the Hyper Boost button and fans ramp up to 100 per cent, causing noise levels to rise to an ear-bashing 48.1dB.
