Overclock

Using our customary overclocking procedure of raising frequencies while using stock voltage, the reference card chugged along at 1,090MHz core and an impressive 7,000MHz memory.

Performance gains when rerunning Far Cry 3 are simply excellent, leading us to believe the card is hamstrung at the shipping clocks. The numbers are very close to that of a default-clocked GeForce GTX 680, with the GTX 760 most likely helped by having lots more memory bandwidth to play with. We feel that Nvidia, in making a point when moving between generations, should really have adopted that new 7Gbps memory on this model.

3DMark, too, shows healthy increases when overclocked. The card broke through the 3,000-point barrier at the Extreme setting. The score beats a GTX 670 and, once again, falls just short of the much dearer GTX 680.
