We've run this particular test multiple times and the result is the same; Palit's card draws 45W more, as a system, than the reference. Closer examination reveals that Palit uses a higher voltage curve for its JetStream, which ensures that the quoted 1,150MHz core speed can be guaranteed in all environments.

The 2.5-slot cooler, however, is adept at cooling the extra load.

And it's ever so quiet in the process. The fans spin at up to 1,700rpm after 10 minutes of Far Cry 3 load, up from a default 900rpm, but they well-designed enough to not make a racket.
