Power, Temperature and Noise

There had to be catch, didn't there? EVGA's pushing the GTX 780 core much further than the reference design, and as a consequence system-wide power consumption jumps past the 300-watt mark.

Faster frequencies and higher power draw usually have an adverse effect on temperature, but credit where it's due, EVGA's ACX cooler is an excellent performer.

And here's the clever bit: EVGA has managed to lower operating temperature while keeping the GTX 780's low noise levels intact.
