Crysis 2 may not have lived up to the expectations set by its predecessor, but with the DX11 patch and high-res textures, it's a gorgeous-looking game.

Crysis 2, meanwhile, has a minor uptick with Catalyst 12.11. The two competing cards benchmark very closely here.

DiRT Showdown may be lacking the realism of previous games in the DiRT series, but it offers stunning graphics, intense action and good ol' demolition derby events.

DiRT: Showdown has been an AMD benefit from the get-go. Performance with the new driver drops at 1080p but is 11.3 per cent higher at 1600p. The Radeon HD 7970 GE is fundamentally faster at 2,560x1,600 than the GeForce GTX 680 is at 1,920x1,080. Go figure.
