Benchmark: Power, Temperature and Noise
A sizeable overclock has allowed Gigabyte's GTX 660 Ti to get close to GTX 670 levels of performance, but it also puts both cards in the same ball park for power consumption.
Here's an interesting graph. We had expected to see the WindForce 2X deliver chart-topping cooling performance, but that isn't the case. 75ºC under load is still very good, but this isn't the coolest GTX 660 Ti we've ever seen.
Neither is it the quietest. Gigabyte's card is barely audible when idle, but after a spell of Batman: Arkham City we found the fans ramping up to 70 per cent (over 2,000rpm) and at that point the card proved to be noisier than we'd anticipated.
