Benchmarks - Batman: Arkham City

Review: HEXUS.net/qa7so | Where2buy: amazon.co.uk

Batman: Arkham City is a class above many games in the action-adventure genre, marrying gorgeous graphics and strong level design with potent storytelling and a kick-ass selection of gadgets and moves. It looks great in DX11, too.

The two GeForces are also beaten in Batman: Arkham City; AMD's cards fly through this test with post-Cataylst 12.4 drivers.

The EVGA's line stays above the Gigabyte's. We believe its extra frequency is the defining factor between the two GeForce GTX 680 OC cards.

While not keeping up with the two Radeons, the EVGA produces significantly more sub-33ms frames than the Gigabyte. Bear in mind that its sub-20ms performance is poor, because hardly any frames are rendered within that time. Logs show the framebuffer usage to top out at 1,989MB - or just inside the standard GTX 680's memory footprint. Any performance improvements over a regular GTX 680 are down to frequency alone in Batman: Arkham City.
