Power, temperatures and noise

The extra frequency demanded by the GTX 670 EX OC is reflected with system-wide in-game power-draw rising by about 10 per cent when compared to a reference card. Putting it into a wider context, the system still pulls fewer watts than with a stock-clocked GTX 570 in situ.

Temperatures are reasonable. KFA² has tuned the fans to run at the lowest possible speed until the GPU hits around 85°C.

Idling on the Windows desktop translates to the fans humming along at around 1,100rpm. They increase to 1,400rpm after about 10 minutes of play in Batman: Arkham City. Overall system noise also increases as the CPU is worked a little, but we can say the test PC remains very quiet when gaming. The cooler does an admirable job of balancing temperatures and noise.
