DOOM 3

DOOM 3, however, tells a different story. Run in high-quality mode, both X800 GTOs are slower than a GeForce 6600 GT 128MB card.

Adding in extra GPU work via 4x AA/8x AF, the GTO cards' performance rises above 6600 GT levels. 1280x1024 4x AA/8x AF is a little too choppy for fluid gameplay, though. In terms of value and looking at the above graph for confirmation, the ATI X800 GTO SKU offers better performance-per-pound than the basic X800 GT 256MB SKU, which runs with only 8 rendering pipelines but a faster core clock.
